Revolution Baby, Tell That Girl To Shut Up, I want Your Love, Baby I Don't Care, Velveteen, Wendy James was the Face of British Indie Punk Rock in the late 80's. During the life span of Transvision Vamp, Wendy was made a cover-star of many magazines all over the world and photographed by everyone from David Bailey for Tatler Magazine and Jurgen Teller for The Face Magazine and I-D Magazine. She became a household name the world over.
After much success with Transvision Vamp Wendy embarked on a solo creer in the early 90's working with Elvis Costello for the ‘NOW AIN’T THE TIME FOR YOUR TEARS’ album.
Wendy then embarked on the recording of a series of solo albums. The last time Wendy visited us she had released her ‘QUEEN HIGH STRAIGHT’ album which became a bit of an Old Bakery Studios favourite, classy indie pop songs.
Wendy will be playing songs from her latest release; ‘THE SHAPE OF HISTORY’ along with tracks highlighting her incredible career.
At a time when the music industry was mainly run by men we say hats off to the formidable Wendy James for doing it the way she wanted to do it!
