MJ Walker is a well-established name, and instigator, within the Cornish Comedy scene. He has performed at numerous Comedy Club nights across the South West and beyond, as well as at major UK festivals such as Boardmasters and Download.
Armed with a ridiculously big beard, superfluous holes, an array of questionable tattoos and a love of loud, shouty music, MJ's material is an intelligent mixture of dark gags and stories, carefully written and delivered very affably. He has an uncanny ability to have punks, rowdy football fans and middle-class Grandmas, laughing together at the same material.
"He looks hard as f#ck, but in reality he reveals himself as a gentle and eloquent soul who readily draws on his previous life as a body piercer and primary school teacher as well as the tragic break up from the mother of his children. Luckily he's very funny too." – Kernow King
"With an alternative but relatable perspective, MJ Walker delivers great comedic insights into everyday life, often with dark subject matter and evil punchlines delivered in an unnervingly affable manner. An excellent act with great timing and confidence."- Plymouth Comedy Avengers
"Exciting, bearded, eloquent. One to watch!"- Eminent Banter
"MJ was a great host, got the audience onboard and warmed up quickly."- Chris Purchase
"A great set from MJ Walker at Newquay Boardmasters Festival" – The West Briton Newspaper
