The Bluetones Mark Morriss solo performance. Classic Indie hits from the 90's including Slight Return and If.
The voice of The Bluetones and writer of some of the biggest indie hits of the 90's. Slight Return, Bluetonic, Cut Some Rug, The Fountainhead, Are You Blue Are You Blind, Talking to Clary, If, Marblehead Johnston, 4 Day Weekend.....the list goes on!
Mark and brother Scott spent time in St Just where their mother lived and Mark is a keen fan of things Kernow. So we are stoked that he is able to visit us in 2023.
Mark has released 6 albums with The Bluetones, including 14 Top 40 singles, 4 albums as a solo artiste, and collaborated with Matt Berry and the Maypoles, Mike Wilton, and The Helicopter Of The Holy Ghost on tours and on record.
As a live performer Mark is able to blend songs from his extensive back catalogue with stories of his time on the road, providing an entertaining show that prides itself on never being the same twice.
“The symbolic of Morriss’ style as a solo performer; a serious love of music and song tempered with jocularity. It makes for a set of easy-going acoustic songs and a camaraderie that brings a warmth to the winter that gathers around us.” – Louder Than War
“Spellbinding; passionate, humorous and open – the sound of a singer who could take on the world.”– On-Magazine.
In addition to being a fabulous songwriter Mark has become something of a raconteur more recently and his ascerbic observations on life in the business of music are very entertaining indeed. This will be a very special night for us here at Old Bakery Studios. Come on down and relive the glory days of indie music!
