Truro's best and favourite comedy night returns to Old Bakery Studios on Oct 30th. The Comedy Cupboard at Old Bakery Studios has become established as THE place to check out top level and up and coming national stand up comedy talent.
October is no exception! Headline act Gavin Webster is an award winning and legendary comedian from the North East of England. After making his modest debut in a pub in Gateshead in February 1993, on the same bill as Ross Noble he’s done over seven thousand gigs performing all over the world. Famed and respected by his peers for his uncompromising and unusual approach and distinctly original routines, he now boasts a large cult following round the country. Gavin has also supported some of the biggest household names on tour including Kevin Bridges, Alexi Sayle, Lee Evans, Jack Dee and Phill Jupitus. In 2014, he was named UK Circuit Comedian of the Year, as voted for by fellow professional comedians online.His television work includes Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), The Stand-up Show (BBC1), Does Doug Know (Channel 4), Take The Mike (ITV), The Regionnaires (Tyne Tees), The Eleven O Clock show (Channel 4), The Comedy Store, Comedy Blue (Comedy Central) and The World Stand Up Tour (Channel 9 Australia, Comedy Central USA).
Phillip Cooper is a charming Welsh comedian Phil Cooper brings a unique blend of storytelling and smart jokes to any stage. In 2019 he appeared on BBC Sesh (the BBC’s platform for Welsh talent), Stand Yp 1hr solo comedy special - S4C - 2017, Heno - S4C, "Gwerthu Allan" (showcase for Welsh comedians) - S4C, Warm-up for Six Nations Rugby - BBC Wales, Arthur Smiths 'Comedy Club' - BBC Radio 4 Extra, New Act Competition - BBC Radio 4
Opener Chris Chopping began his stand-up career in Wales and quickly racked up a brace of new act competition wins. Since then, his dry outlook and hilarious punchlines have established him as a fixture of professional comedy nights across Wales and beyond. He’s also taken seven shows (including three solo hours) to the Edinburgh Festival where his strong material and deadpan persona have garnered him a cult following.
MC for the night, Anna Keirle is the comedy circuit's best kept secret. Multi-award winning with almost 20 years experience, she's a Cornish bumpkin with funny in her veins. First seen on the Russel Brand Show (Channel 4), she has gone on to win Riviera Comedian of the Year and a finalist in 'So you think you're funny?', Funny Women, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Kings of Comedy (Channel 4)!

PARKING No parking on site. Garras Wharf Car Park next to Tesco TR1 2TN. FREE after 4PM. A short walk round from the venue.
For individual assistance please contact the venue direct. We have easy access to the event space on the flat and can provide parking on site and assistance with entry where required. We offer free assistance tickets. We currently have steps down in our loos (the nearest fully accessible loos are Tescos) but we aim to have a fully accessible bathroom facility in the ground floor as soon as we can.
