We are stoked to be bringing the hugely talented Ben Ottewell back to Cornwall after a 5 year absence.
Ben, formerly lead singer with Mercury Prize winning band Gomez, has since forged a successful solo career. Ottewell's deep, soulful voice has gained him acclaim and has drawn comparisons to Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and artist Tom Waits. His lyrical style, and acoustical arrangements, especially in his solo work, have drawn comparisons to folk singer Nick Drake.
Following up on his recent sold out UK tour, Ben will be wending his way down the M5 and A30 to play for us on Friday May 24th. We fully expect this date to also feature as a sold out gig, so book your tickets now!
Support for the night for Ben is Schrodinger's Daughter
Not much is known about Schrödinger’s Daughter and apparently that’s how she’d like to keep it. Coolly arriving on the South West’s music scene at the end of last year, fully armed with a bewitching set of songs about “the spaces in between”, her beguiling voice and haunting melodies have been doing all the talking, leaving audiences (and rumour has it, record labels) speechless and spellbound. Think Alice meets Big Thief via Portishead and Leonard Coen. Then forget all that and take Schrödinger’s Daughter for what she is – an original and one to watch.
